The Committee on Community Events organizes an annual week of neuroscience-related activities on campus for NEURO Club's Brain Awareness Week. This event is part of the Brain Awareness Campaign, a worldwide celebration launched by the Dana Alliance for Brain Initiative. CCE aims to increase public awareness of the progress and benefits of brain research on the UChicago campus.
Brain Awareness Week 2014 included event themes that corresponded to sub-fields of neuroscience and involved economics, decision making, computational modeling, clinical neurology, brain development, and imaging techniques and hundreds of attendees. We hope to continue this trajectory of involving the UChicago campus in neuroscience in upcoming years.
